ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the mechanical behavior of bovine pericardium with different orientations after compression and evaluate its effects on the duration of transcatheter aortic valve. Methods According to the fiber directions, the pericardial strips were divided into 12 groups of transverse, longitudinal and oblique pericardial strips, and each group included 3 strips of pericardium. One strip maintained the original state, and the other two strips were under 12.5 N and 25 N compression, respectively for 1 h. The mechanical properties of compressed samples were tested and analyzed subsequently in uniaxial tension test. Results The samples with different orientations showed obvious anisotropy before and after compression. The secant modulus, elastic modulus and ultimate tensile strength of the longitudinal pericardium were generally greater than those of the oblique pericardium, while the oblique pericardium was larger than the transverse pericardium. For longitudinal and oblique bovine pericardium under 25 N compression, the average tensile strength ratio was 0.92 and 0.87, respectively, and the ratio of tensile strength before and after compression had a significant difference (P<0.05). The average tensile strength ratio of transverse bovine pericardium after 25 N compression was 0.97, and there was no significant difference in the ratio of tensile strength before and after compression (P>0.05). Conclusions The compressive damage of the pericardia with different fiber orientations was very small under low stresses at transitory time. For design and production of transcatheter aortic valves, the orientations of the pericardium and the changes of strength after compression should be taken into consideration.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the pollution condition of Salmonella in food with phage. Methods Salmonella in 413 samples of food were detected by the diagnosis of Salmonella phage with biochemical and serological identification. Results 119 Salmonella were detected in 99 positive samples and the isolating rate was 24%. Conclusion The disservice of Salmonella is mainly from the meat food and eggs. The detection method of phage is fast, convenient and reliable.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To study automated synthesis of 2-[(18)F]-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose ((18)F-FDG) via on-column hydrolysis.@*METHODS@#Automated synthesis of (18)F-FDG was performed by the on-column hydrolysis procedure in TRACERlab FXF-N synthesizer. (18)F-FDG injection was obtained via nucleophilic fluorination of 1, 3, 4, 6-tetra-O-acetyl-2-O-trifluoromethanesulfony-beta-D-mannopyranose as the precursor molecule with (18)F-fluoride, hydrolysis of the (18)F-labeled intermediate on SEP-PAK C18 cartridges with 2 mol/L NaOH solution, and purification and neutralization with SEP-PAK cartridges.@*RESULTS@#The uncorrected radiochemical yield of (18)F-FDG was more than 60% within the total synthesis time shorter than 20 min. The radiochemical purity of (18)F-FDG was above 99%.@*CONCLUSION@#On-column hydrolysis is simple and practical for the automated synthesis of (18)F-FDG. (18)F-FDG injection produced by this procedure can be used in clinical PET imaging.

ABSTRACT

@# Objective To observe the effect of early intervention on premature.Methods56 premature infants as intervention group received early intervention, and clinically treatment and management. The mental development index (MDI) and psychomotor development index (PDI) were assessed at the age of 6 months, 12 months, and 18 months comparing to 96 premature infants as control group.ResultsMDI scores of the intervention group was lower than that of the control group at the age of 6 months ( P<0.05). There were no difference in MDI and PDI at age of 12 months between the two groups. But MDI and PDI scores of the intervention group at age of 18 months were higher than those of the control group. ConclusionEarly intervention can improve premature infants normally develop.

ABSTRACT

@#Objective To explore the effect of family rehabilitation on children with cerebral palsy.Methods60 children with cerebral palsy received the family rehabilitation. The program was divided into two stages: the first 3 months in outpatient (mainly performed by physical therapists) and the second 3 months in family (mainly performed the parents). The physical therapists tutored the parents to learn and practice the rehabilitation training. The acupuncture and massage may be used to ease the patients, i.e., relaxing hypermyotonia. The gross motor function development is assessed in the end of the first month, third month, and sixth month. ResultsThe effect rate is higher in the end of the third month than in the first month ( P<0.05), as well as the end of the sixth month than the third month ( P<0.05).ConclusionFamily rehabilitation is effective and practicable.

ABSTRACT

Objective Using a short-term in vivo laboratory model of murine liver cancer induced with diethylnitrosamine (DEN),we inspected the impact of 5% C.Chrysantha leaves and 5% concentrations on induction of liver cancer with DEN.Methods Laboratory Winstar rats, all being male and SPF grade, were administered with the liver cancer initiator DEN(200?g/kg,ip,once only),then with murine food containing 0.015% 2-AAF (2-Acetaminoflueren) for 2 weeks, following an excision of the augmented parts as a selective promoting program that speeded up the proliferation of precancerous foci from the initiated hepatocytes. On the beginning of this experiment,5% C.Chrysantha leaves and 5% concentration-contained food were given to the trail rats; in contrast, normal food to the control.Rats were killed 3 days after feeding of 2-AAF-contained food.Targeting part of liver were collected for ?-glutamyltranspeptidase (?-GT) staining, and numbers and areas of?-GT positive foci per cm2 of the liver area were calculated using a software designed by us.Results Numbers and areas of?-GT positive foci of the trail are significantly less than those of the control. Conclusion 5% C.Chrysantha leaves and 5% concentrations inhibit the DEN induction to liver cancer.

ABSTRACT

@#ObjectiveTo investigate the current situation of the quality of life of aging people living in the rural areas in Hainan province. Methods253 permanent residents at age of 60 and above in Zhongyuan Town were sampled at random, and were investigated face to face at home. Results96.0% of them were independently managing their activities of daily life with 77.5% lived by themselves. In a self evaluation questionnaire on health status, 32.0% perceived good, 50.8% moderate and 17.2% bad,70.75% had history of chronic illnesse, cataract, hypertension, chronic bronchitis, bone and joint diseases and anemia appeared to occupy the previous five positions.41.0% were satisfied with the current medical condition,52.4% moderate and 6.6% un satisfied. 75.1% thought medical costs too expensive. At the degree of satisfaction to life, 20.2% were high, 63.8% moderate and 16.0% low. ConclusionsDue to the huge amount of demand on health services of the rural elderly people, it was suggested that more medical care should be provided to the rural elderly people, with emphasis on the chronic diseases, and the policy of prevention first and combining prevention with treatment should be sticked to.
